Announced the morning of April 19, Bethesda has shown the first footage clips for their newest IP, The Evil Within. Shinji Mikami, creator of long-running survival-horror game Resident Evil, heads up the new project with his team at Tango Gameworks.
“We’re incredibly proud to announce The Evil Within,” explained Mikami, “My team and I are committed to creating an exciting new franchise, providing fans the perfect blend of horror and action.”
The launch trailer is almost exclusively live-action and neither the video nor Bethesda have given any real details as to what to expect gameplay or story wise. However, the video does give many classic horror vibes — torture, insanity, grime, and death — also very much giving an American Horror Story: Asylum impression.
